Author Event with Jeremy Finley

You may know Jeremy Finley for his dogged, award-winning investigative reporting at WSMV — for more than a decade he’s been digging up dirt on politicians, reporting on missing people, investigating government waste and more. Now he’s taken to writing freaky sci-fi novels. The first, The Darkest Time of Night, debuted in June 2018 — NPR reviewer Bethanne Patrick said it was like “a cross between The X-Files, The OA, Stranger Things and Mr. Robot.” That book’s sequel, The Dark Above, is slated for a release on the same day he’ll give a talk at Parnassus Books. Both books deal in government cover-ups, aliens and end-of-days dramatics — here’s your chance to ask Finley how much of that is based on real-life experiences reporting in Nashville. 6:30 p.m. at Parnassus Books, 3900 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 14 AMANDA HAGGARD
