Gospel-blues-rock singer and songwriter Ashley Cleveland cut a pretty darned good version of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards’ song “Gimme Shelter” on her 2003 full-length You Are There, and that’s not an easy thing to pull off. Hailing from Knoxville, Cleveland has garnered Grammy wins for her rock-gospel work — check out her fine 2008 full-length Before the Daylight’s Shot. I also admire Cleveland’s 2009 collection God Don’t Never Change, which contains her rendition of Fred McDowell’s blues standard “You Gotta Move,” which The Rolling Stones recorded once upon a time. Working with her husband, producer and guitarist Kenny Greenberg, Cleveland makes tough-minded, Christian-themed rock — her bracing singing style is matched by her impeccable blues credentials, and Greenberg is a remarkable accompanist. Cleveland and Greenberg have released a new full-length, One More Song, which promises to continue their explorations. 8 p.m. at Douglas Corner Cafe, 2106 Eighth Ave. S. EDD HURT
