Vintage shopping connotes differently for different audiences. If you're a fashion addict who regularly patronizes your favorite designer (or even has a favorite designer), handmade and pre-loved pieces are great way to save cash. If you're a less-is-more type whose shopping "routine" consist of picking up a 3-pack of Hanes t-shirts and finding your size Levi's at Southern Thrift, they're prohibitively expensive. So for these two demographics, East Nashville's Walden Artisan Market will serve very different purposes: You're either loading up on bargains, or hunting for that special piece that's worth the splurge. Either way, you'll be supporting Nashville's independent artists and retailers. And the weekend-long event (it runs through Sunday) offers more than just clothes; the previous sale featured bags, belts, pottery and paintings.
