Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Le Divan Japonais

From now until Dec. 31, the Frist Art Museum will offer free admission on Mondays in exchange for donations of non-perishable food items to support Second Harvest Food Bank. Now is a great time to visit the Frist. The museum is showing an ambitious exhibition that’s traveled all the way from Paris. Paris 1900: City of Entertainment includes over 300 works of art, including paintings, prints, sculpture, clothing and film. At the turn of the 20th century, Paris was a party, and the Frist’s exhibition immerses viewers in the elegance and decadence of the time.

In the Gordon Contemporary Artists Project Gallery, catch Korean-born Do Ho Suh’s fantastic exhibition, Specimens, for which you can read the Scene’s review here. Also check out the seventh biennial Young Tennessee Artists exhibition, featuring the best 2-D artwork from high school students across the state.

Second Harvest Food Bank partners with 490 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, senior centers, group homes and youth enrichment programs in Middle and West Tennessee to feed the hungry. The items that will benefit them most are peanut butter, canned meat, canned vegetables, canned fruit, pasta and cereal.

Check out the Frist's calendar for details on exhibitions through Dec. 31.
