ICYMI: Five women accused Louis C.K. of some pretty disgusting behavior a couple years ago — almost all of it involving attempts by the comic to masturbate in front of them.
The allegations were awful, but not necessarily something he couldn't have come back from after some time (a lot of time), careful introspection and maybe some apologies. In fact, a really great comedian could've come up with some powerful material based on the whole ordeal.
However, C.K., who became known for his relatable routines and everyman appeal, didn't do that. When he decided to hit some clubs with new material, he joked about school-shooting victims instead.
Anyway, this week C.K. will bring some new material to Zanies for six shows over three nights — May 15-17. He's been doing other surprise runs lately: The New York Times reported on May 9 that C.K. is trying to ban leaks from his shows.
I guess that explains while C.K.'s artist bio on the Zanies website reads a bit more like a legal disclosure than a description of his work.
