Actor Mark Cabus brings his acclaimed one-man stage version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol back to Nashville for one public performance Dec. 7. The veteran actor plays 18 characters (from Scrooge to the ghosts to Tiny Tim) from the classic tale of transformation and redemption at First Unitarian Universalist Church (1808 Woodmont Blvd.) Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. Bring the whole family. Admission is free, but a love offering is appreciated.

Mark is a skilled actor, writer, and director, classically trained both stateside and abroad. He has worked all over the world in film, television, and theatre. In the Southeast, he’s recognized for his performances with Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre and Georgia Shakespeare, and with Nashville’s Tennessee Repertory Theatre and Nashville Shakespeare Festival, and with Knoxville’s Clarence Brown Theatre. Mark’s latest television and film credits range from the Academy Award-winning Selma to AMC’s critically acclaimed series TURN: Washington’s Spies. He has recently completed studies at the Academy for Classical Acting’s MFA program at George Washington University in D.C. Over twenty-two thousand people have seen his solo performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
There is no admission fee, but we will have a “love offering” to show our appreciation to Mark, and to honor Rita Frizzell, Mark’s dear friend and beloved former FUUN member, in whose name Mark will donate 10% of the proceeds to two organizations that meant a great deal to her: Agape Animal Rescue and the Sarah Cannon Research Institute.
This performance is suitable for children in upper elementary and above. In fact, Mark needs some of them to make the story happen! But please know that the tone and the “ghosts” may be scary to younger or more sensitive children. Child care will be available for those children who do not attend the performance.
