Rebel Hill Florist is set to host its 10th annual blood drive benefiting the American Red Cross, on Thursday, July 25, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. All blood drive donors will receive one dozen roses free. “I look forward to this event every single year, and it never ceases to amaze me the way the community shows up,” said owner Anna Page. “To celebrate our 10th year, we’ve set our goal higher than ever before, at 100 units. So come out to help us reach our goal and save lives.” Over the past 10 years, Rebel Hill Florist has collected more than 450 units of blood, helping more than 1,300 patients. According to the American Red Cross, Rebel Hill Florist holds the record for the most years in a row a small, woman-owned business in middle Tennessee has sponsored a blood drive.
According to the American Red Cross, the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day is one of the most challenging times of the year to ensure there is enough blood on hand to meet patients’ needs.
