LYRICS
For all I know
The best is over and the worst is yet to come
Is it enough?
To keep on hoping when the rest have given up?
And they go
"I hate to say I told you so"
But they love to
Say they told me so
Say they say they told me
I know you like
When I admit that I was wrong and you were right
At least I try
To keep my cool when I am thrown into a fire
Throw me into the fire
Throw me in, pull me out again
Last month, Paramore announced their forthcoming LP After Laughter with a video for "Hard Times," a groovy New Wave-y cut that might just encourage some vintage Kim Catrall dance moves. Today, the group premiered another new vid, this time for a tune called "Told You So."
The track leans just as much toward early-’80s-vintage danceable pop as its predecessor, and it gets a period-appropriate treatment in the vid, which was directed by Aaron Joseph and the band's Zac Ferro. Above, see Hayley Williams & Co. enacting a getaway scene that feels like it's looking back at the late ’60s through the lens of the Reagan years.
The record is out Friday, May 12, and there's one more piece of news: As reported by No Country for New Nashville, Paramore appears set to play a surprise release gig at Exit/In on May 10. Further details are expected to appear in this spot on Paramore's web site, but it's blank for now.
