Things you can’t get for $5: a Bud Light at FGL House; a 12-ounce latte at Barista Parlor; a biscuit with gravy at Biscuit Love. Those items make Barcelona Wine Bar’s late-night bar paella deal seem too good to be true. Surely the $5 serving of paella would be tiny, or worse, just not any good. But instead, the heaping mountain of rice and seafood feels like the best deal in town. On a recent Thursday night, the chef served mussels, prawns, squid and clams in the dish, though each night it’s different depending on the chef’s whims and available victuals. If you’re in the right place (the bar) at the right time (10 p.m. on weeknights, 11 p.m. on weekends), take an inexpensive flier on this experiential offering.
