  • A Tribute to Michael Jackson's Off the Wall at Mercy Lounge Aug. 28

It's time for an intersection of two things I'm sure none of us have become exhausted by as of late: tribute/cover shows and rampant Michael Jackson obsession. In honor of MJ's b-day and the 30th anniversary of Off the Wall's release, Kid Electric Concerts have put together a lineup to perform said record in its entirety. So yes, this means "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough," "Rock With You" and "Get on the Floor" will all finally be performed at Mercy Lounge. We haven't heard much Jackson materia

  • Help Kids in the 'Boro Do the Rock Right: Donate Items to New All-Ages Space

Last year, I wrote about Y.E.A.H., a nonprofit group in Murfreesboro (Youth Empowerment through Arts and Humanities) started up by Kelley Anderson, the same kick-ass lady who started the Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp and also plays in Those Darlins. • Figure 8 off 8th: Elliott Smith Tribute at Mercy Lounge Oct. 18

You know what sucks? When you come across a really brilliant and worthwhile video that some local artists posted in order to promote an upcoming charity show, but then you see they've only uploaded it to Facebook--thus, no embeddy, and if you aren't on Facebook, no watchy either. Well, Caitlin Rose, Korby Lenker, Jordan Caress of Korean Is Asian, Josh Foster of Parachute Musical and Don Gallardo put together this fantastic cover of Elliott Smith's "Say Yes" that you can view if you're on Faceboo

  • YEAH! Donations Needed

I know that times is tough, but sometimes it can be cool to cut back on the booze and pizza and throw your money to a good cause. The nonprofit outfit YEAH (Youth Empowerment Through Arts & Humanities), which works with Southern Girls Rock 'n' Roll Camp, is moving to a new facility in Murfreesboro and they need your tax-deductible donation dollars please. This multi-purpose space won't just be for the ladies, though. It will be "a music venue for all ages shows featuring local high school musi
