Daron Hall, running with virtually no opposition, is on the airwaves with a big ad buy — approximately $85,000 on the network stations — that looks a lot like somebody who wants to lead more than just the sheriff's office.
Hall: A world-class city like Nashville should have a forward-looking sheriff's office.
Voiceover: Daron Hall
Hall: This is a hardworking, crime-preventing, money-saving operation. Our innovative programs reduce repeat offenders by 30 percent, and made police response times faster, with more officers on patrol, not buried in paperwork. All while staying under budget 12 straight years.
Voiceover: Innovative and effective — Daron Hall
Pith asked if he had plans to run for the mayor's office next year. His response: "Right now I'm working on the sheriff's race."
So, why the big ad buy?
"I've got a campaign manager and a team of folks and we're just trying to get a message out about what we've accomplished with it. We've been there for 12 years and haven't always had opposition, so we wanted to talk about the work we've been doing," Hall said.
