Rabbit Supper Straw Poll Voters Gotta Have That Funk

Posted By on Fri, Apr 4, 2014 at 12:43 PM

The Sure Shot Rabbit Hunters' Supper returned last night, drawing more than 1,000 political movers and shakers to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, all there to be counted as movers and shakers, glad hand candidates for upcoming elections and eat some barbecue. (All of which raised money for Room in the Inn).

They also conducted a straw poll. We're told more than 900 votes were cast, and we have the results. You can check them all out after the jump, but here are a couple of notable ones:

— Glenn Funk received 63.41 percent in the District Attorney's race, with Rob McGuire (24.39 percent) and Diane Lance (12.2 percent) lagging well behind.

— Jon Peeler came out ahead in the Circuit Court Division VIII race, besting incumbent Judge Carol Soloman 49.72 percent to 35.88 percent.

— In the two most crowded races — General Sessions Division II and General Sessions Division IX — a plurality of the votes went to Jim McNamara and Tee Gorham respectively.
