That's right. Remember back in February, when U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen of Memphis sent some creepy tweets to an attractive 24-year-old blonde named Victoria Brink, which turned out not to be so creepy because Brink was the daughter of a close family friend — followed by the revelation that she was actually she was Steve Cohen's daughter? Well, it turns out she's not Steve Cohen's daughter.
Cohen tells Politico he was "stunned and dismayed" by the results of a paternity test, which revealed the truth:
“I was stunned and dismayed at the results. I still love Victoria, hold dear the time I have shared with her and hope to continue to be part of her life,” he said.
This is all very discombobulating, but here's our best shot at sorting things out: Cohen's tweets are still Not Creepy, because he believed Brink was his daughter at the time. The Tennessee Republican Party, who immediately labeled Cohen "The Weiner of the South" and didn't exactly take it back, still looks a bit assy for their rapid misfire. And the rest of us? Well, we probably shouldn't care about this anyway.
