- "What was I thinking these last 15 years?"
News reaches us late on a Friday afternoon that veteran conservative radio talk show host
Steve Gill of WLAC is turning in his microphone after 15 years on the air in Middle Tennessee. Gill tells Pith, "It took a while, but I have finally realized the error of my ways. It turns out that liberals are right and conservatives are wrong — about everything. So I'm quitting radio to take a full time job with Think Progress."
OK, we may have made some of that up. According to an AP report, Gill will pack it in later this month because he sees the rise of national broadcast chains, such as Clear Channel and Cumulus, as limiting local radio talk show opportunities. No word yet on whether Gill is moving to France, or joining the Green Party. Or both.
