Fisk is not going to be following around a band none of you has ever heard of and tweeting photos of one member's clothing while hurting Charlie Sheen's feelings. Nor is Fisk going to be playing Elizabeth Taylor in a movie.
Yet much like Lohan, Fisk is still having financial issues and is going to be on probation a little while longer. As The City Paper reports:
[The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools] reaffirmed Fisk’s accreditation for a year but prolonged the probationary period. School officials cited “financial stability” and “adequate financial controls” as two of the reasons it wasn't taken off of probation. SACS did remove concerns about qualified academic and administrative officers.
All joking aside, this isn't surprising. And though it's not the greatest news, it's good to see that the SACS is finding areas of improvement.
Selling a half-share of the Stieglitz collection was a drastic measure and a big gamble. It'd be nice to see it result in the start of more secure times at Fisk. This news seems like another tentative step toward that future.
