Paul Stanley Continues to Play the Blame Game in Public

You know what I wonder? I wonder if Paul Stanley puts together a press release every time there's some news story he might even tangentially provide insight into. So, whenever someone has an affair that blows up in his face and the media wants someone who's had an affair that ended in a spectacularly strange fashion to talk to them, out comes ole Paul "My girlfriend's boyfriend tried to shake me down in the parking lot of El Rey Azteca and I didn't even get a burrito out of it" Stanley, disgraced ex-state senator.

It's kind of sad, when you think too hard about it, that Paul Stanley's only legacy, the only thing he has to trade on, is the worst thing he's ever done. It almost makes me feel bad for him, except that he continues to be such a douche.

Take, for instance, his latest appearance at WKRN, offering expert insight into the Petraeus scandal:

He added that with the insight of his own affair, he has a good guess on what happened between the general and his biographer.

"The young lady, Paula Broadwell, who was his biographer, was very attractive and aggressive and I am sure over time their relationship began emotional before moving to a physical level," Stanley said.

See what I mean? You feel bad for Stanley because all he's got to talk about that's of interest to anyone is his affair. (And let's be clear, this is about his affair. Broadwell's not particularly young — she's only ten years younger than Stanley — and she looks like a regular 40 year-old. Stanley has no knowledge of whether she was the aggressor or the shape Petraeus and Broadwell's affair took. Stanley has dressed up his own affair in other people's clothes and passed that off as analysis.). But then he simply cannot pass up the chance to yet again blame his mistress for his problems. She was aggressive, after all.

Once he starts in with blaming her, it pretty much kills any sympathy I have for him. And yet, since he's got a book about his scandal and downfall coming out this spring, I don't think we're going to get a respite from his blame game anytime soon.
