No Photo, No Voto: Sarah Silverman Takes Voter ID Laws (Particularly Tennessee's) to Task

Posted by on Fri, Sep 21, 2012 at 2:01 PM

Sure, it may already be obvious that the Voter ID law movement is a cynical, unconscionable move by Republicans to win a presidential election — an election they are likely to lose regardless, since Mitt Romney is proving to be the most ham-fisted presidential candidate in a generation.

But comedian Sarah Silverman's new video "Let My People Vote 2012 — Get Nana a Gun" is still worth a look, particularly for the part about Tennessee (beginning around the two-minute mark), chiding the Volunteer state for not accepting state university ID cards, but allowing GUN PERMIT cards. HELLO?! IS THIS THING ON?

Thus the "Get Nana a Gun" in the title.
