'Human Hockey Puck' Intern Adam Misses Pins, Hits Wall, Sues Preds

107.5 The River's Intern Adam, hits the wall. (Fair warning: He curses just after impact.)

Adam Davis, aka Intern Adam, is even more grating than the One Direction song he's likely to be introducing at any given moment on The River. But since the lawyers have gotten involved after the incident shown above, we'll say no more.

The City Paper's Pierce Greenberg reports, as he often does, from the intersection of absurdity and the legal system.

Davis, better known on WRVW-107.5 The River as Intern Adam, was supposed to be slung down the ice on a sled and into a set-up of bowling pins. But during the rehearsal prior to the Preds' game against the Calgary Flames, he missed the pins completely and crashed into the side of the rink.

Video of the incident can be viewed on The River's YouTube page. (Editor's note: some profanity on the clip)

Davis was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where screws had to be placed in his ankle.

The lawsuit claims that employees of the Predators failed to provide adequate protection for Davis — and also failed to warn Davis of the risks associated with the stunt. Attorney Bill Leader, who is representing Davis, said his client didn't sign any kind of waiver form before participating in the stunt.

Greenberg also passes along a link to the suit (PDF), in which Davis is seeking over $25,000 to cover medical costs. Should you ever find yourself acting as a Human Hockey Puck, Pith recommends you avoid leading with your legs as you slide into the wall.
