Pith translation: I will pay lip service to the governor's proposals, but I'm really hacked that he sided with that squish Beth Harwell and not the real deal—me, Ron Ramsey. Why cut the food tax? That's the only way to make all those jobless slackers out there pay anything at all to state government. Everybody's got to eat, right? That state tax on interest income is the real bitch, at least to all the people I care about. Haslam might think this fight's over, but just watch how I gum up the works in the Senate. OK?
