Ketron Prays Over Whether to Tomahawk DesJarlais

State Sen. Bill Ketron
  • State Sen. Bill Ketron
In an unintentionally hilarious interview with the Murfreesboro newspaper, state Sen. Bill Ketron pretends the redrawn Fourth Congressional District came as a big surprise and dropped him like a rock to his knees in prayer over whether to run against freshman Republican Rep. Scott DesJarlais (not the mustard) this year. Yes, God works in mysterious ways.

That's so funny. Everyone knows Ketron, as a key member of the state Senate's redistricting committee, demanded the Fourth include his house in Murfreesboro just so he could run for Congress against DesJarlais, the Tea Party wacko who was swept into the office two years ago in the anti-Obama tidal wave.

Ketron does acknowledge that he pretty much always wanted go to Washington as a servant of the people. Did you know he was an Eagle Scout? In the last session, you'll recall, Ketron tried to set himself up to win a GOP congressional primary. He positioned himself as even crazier than DesJarlais by introducing legislation to outlaw Islam and to establish a Tennessee monetary system in case of calamity.

DesJarlais is preparing for battle. He has $436,000 in cash on hand after raising $154,127 for the fourth quarter, and he's already airing radio ads. The Koch brothers have given to his cause.

This is the same Bill Ketron whose first run for public office was as a Democrat for County Executive, and when he got beat he petulantly swtched parties so he could get elected to something else. (Would he even be a Republican if he had won that job?) The same Bill Ketron who has mindlessly introduced legilation written by well-financed racist organizations. The same Bill Ketron whose personal life may not withstand the scrutiny a Congressional race would bring about. The same Bill Ketron who has no particular values except his own self-promotion. He might be marginally better than DeJarhead, but only marginally.

If anyone believes that Senator Bill "Strange Fruit" Ketron (R-Auschwitz) was surprised by the redistricting gift handed to him by the TN/RICO flying monkeys, you need to get your meds checked. As an Eagle Scout myself, I wonder if there is any way to recall that award from "Strange Fruit". After all, Boy Scouts are supposed to be both trustworthy and reverent, qualities that do not appear to exist in Ketron's neighborhood, nor in his soul for that matter.

As for believing that the Auschwitz representative to our General Assembly fell to his knees, we need more truly God-fearing legislators and fewer who keep pretending to speak for Her.

Get thee behind us, "Strange Fruit". You and your ilk only serve as cheap fodder for Comedy Central and as an embarrassment for most of the rest of us here in the Volunteer State.

He is not a racist, Marduk, but he is a liar. He has misled and deceived his constituents repeatedly. Not the only one by far. Our legislature is full of such "character."

Apparently I'll still be in congressional district 4, and I think I'll vote for Eric Stewart in the next round unless someone from Maury County surfaces.

Been there, done that, Perry. But I've always been independent and have never misrepresented my leanings.
