No. 2 House Republican Calls on Todd to Quit Leadership Post

House Republican leader Gerald McCormick is calling on Rep. Curry Todd to step down as a committee chairman. In the hallway of the Legislative Plaza, he just told Andy Sher:

“Our actions have consequences, and I believe that Rep. Todd should resign his chairmanship of State and Local Government and concentrate on other things right now."

We interpret this remark to mean that Todd is refusing to step down or that House leaders are becoming impatient with his public silence on this matter. The news that Todd spent his morning playing golf probably didn't increase their willingness to cut him any more slack.

Why House Speaker Beth Harwell is waiting for Todd is another question entirely. She could strip him of his chairmanship at any time.
