Local fruits, vegetables and cheese — oh, my! Get your fresh-food shop on at the 12 South Farmer’s Market, featuring more than 20 vendors. The local food system in Nashville is expanding again, and this interactive market will feature a weekly newsletter and blog to make it user-friendly for shoppers. Both offer up fresh ideas and recipes to put your aged cheese, local meat, fresh fruits and other market purchases to good use.
This is no traditional mercado, either. There will be special events the third Tuesday of each month, and the opening day challenges you to sport your best Yosemite Sam, Burt Reynolds or Derek Smalls for the Mustache May contest.
