As Garrison explains, Wilders isn't exactly subtle or nuanced in his views on the second-largest religion in the world:
“I don’t hate Muslims,” Wilders is quoted in The Observer as saying. “I hate Islam.
“Islam is not a religion. It’s an ideology, the ideology of a retarded culture.”
The 7 p.m. event will be emceed by the always fair and balanced Steve Gill. And it's only fitting that it's being hosted by Cornerstone Church, headed by Pastor — and convicted murderer, but it's cool, because Jesus forgave him — Maury Davis, whose spiritually enlightening sermons (available on CD and for download!) have included titles such as "The Evil of Islam," "Islam Revisited" and "Winning Muslims to Christ."
And it's even more fitting that the event has been organized by the Tennessee Freedom Coalition (we won't get into the irony of that name‚ as we'd need another 1,000 words), whose executive director is none other than Tea Party extremist Lou Ann Zelenik, an ardent opponent of the construction of an Islamic community center planned for Rutherford County. Zelenik, a Murfreesboro businesswoman, lost a heated congressional Republican primary to Diane Black last year.
Let the hate fest begin!
