Do It For Your University: Playboy Hits on Vanderbilt for "Sexy Girls of the SEC" Issue

Nothing says you're hot on the trail of 2011's most relevant tail like a stash of Playboys in the bathroom. So if you're looking for the classiest of pert nips and landing strips — you know, the kind belonging to the sort of gal who might be hanging around an SEC college sporting event but who definitely wouldn't be competing in one — then you've come to the right undisclosed location.

That's right: The soft glossy newsletter of America's favorite swinger hits Vanderbilt University on Tuesday, April 12, in search of the next batch of harmful bacteria "sexy" college girls for Playboy's annual "Girls of the SEC" issue, where ostensibly smart young women seek revenge on their parents by showing them just what they paid $50 grand a year for. Here, take a naughty li'l peek. NSFW! But NEATTE. That's my own little abbreviation for not exactly all that titillating, either — and here's why:

You don't have to know your tweet from your twat to know that Playboy is in decline, long ago usurped by a pornucopia of free content available online that caters better and faster and grosser to every weird whim, whistle or want faster than you can say "I'll have a Doan's and a fresh set of pajamas."

Even when people my age were in college (and I'm in my 30s!), Playboy was no longer edgy and no longer belonged to the young — it was the sort of thing your boyfriend's kinda pervy dad still looked at, with its overly tanned, teased-haired, wet-lipped wonders that seemed the stuff of softcore Skinemax movies, not real girls who sat next to you in history class. (And if you think much has changed in the intervening two decades, see how the Playboy sausage still gets made.)

And if it needed a swift kick in the dad jeans to find out just how relevant it was, it certainly got it: With the Internet came the new porn order: Overexposed, up-and-in-'em, Walmart-parking-lot-lit tales featuring stretch marks, skin folds, cellulite and all — you know, "real girls." "Real sex." "Real desire." Of course, porn is no more a true populist escape than it ever was a liberator of women, but Playboy's the only one who thinks it still rides on the sexual revolution's pioneer spirit. (A nice take from someone once in the Playboy trenches reveals exactly how the swinger's door actually swung.)

But I digress: Any sexy Vandy girls feel like taking it off for Hef? For old time's sake? Even though there are more of you in college these days than the men you'll be helping score, it doesn't take a 1300 on the SAT to realize a good thing when it slaps you on the ass. Or as Kristen Schaal puts it in the Daily Show clip above, the first step to breaking the glass ceiling is pressing your boobs against it.
