The Chattanooga Times Free Press has a short piece about Tennessee Republican chair Chris Devaney calling Lincoln Davis a "Nancy's Boy."
Of course, they turn around and deny it's any kind of double entendre — "GOP spokeswoman Kim Ketchel, who noted the reference was Pelosi and was in no way intended as a double entendre."
Okay, so what if it's not a play on "Nancy Boy"? What then? Under what other circumstances do people call a grown man someone's "boy"? Are we supposed to take from that that Davis is like Pelosi's slave? And that's somehow better? Hilarious.
Please. This is one of the things I find most irritating about the TNGOP. They do stuff like this and then they expect to be able to just be all "What? That term or image has some long sordid history? I had no idea! Well, I certainly didn't mean in that way" and we're all just supposed to believe it.
If they want to be assholes, why don't they just be assholes? Why do they always shirk from it when called on it? It's almost as if they know they're doing something wrong.
