Gay Newspaper Snubs Haslam and McWherter, Embraces Cooper

To the relief of the candidates, the gay newspaper Out & About has declined to endorse anyone in the governor's race. We're waiting on both candidates to include the non-endorsement in TV ads. Only the Scene probably has less influence over election campaigns. Here's what Out & About had to say:

It’s hard to know whether to be more discouraged by Democrat Mike Wherter’s waffling on the adoption ban legislation our community routinely faces or Republican Bill Haslam’s fundraising efforts for Rep. Stacey “Don’t Say Gay” Campfield who is running for the State Senate. We’re not aware of any open, concerted effort to reach out to our community on the part of either candidate.

Out & About did endorse Congressman Jim Cooper and Greg Rabidoux, Rep. Marsha Blackburn's Democratic opponent, as well as a bunch of Democrats in the legislature. Go here for the full list.

God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve

Donny629: God made us all, including Steve. And in America we have a principle that all people should have the same rights under the rule of law, including the right to marry.

Because much of the gay rights agenda is focused on some aspect of family law it is so curious to me that Out and About would endorse political leaders like Sherry Jones, Tommy Browne, Jeanne Richardson, Janice Sontany, Mike Turner, Gary Odom and now psychiatrist Charles Ihrig. These politicians aren't able to get past the blocking the legal premise that single fathers have an equality right to raise their own children. Yet they are certain that all gay adoptions should be permitted
The American Psychiatric Association is in deep conflict over the inclusion of parental alienation as a psychological disorder but are completely certain that all homosexuality is normal.

I think Phil Valentine, Steve Gill and Fred Thompson get this paper.
