FBI, ATF Offer $20K Reward in Murfreesboro Mosque Burning

Posted by Jim Ridley on Fri, Sep 3, 2010 at 4:07 PM

This from City Paper editor Stephen George in Murfreesboro: FBI and ATF agents, flanked by new Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold, just announced the agencies are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for arson at the site of Murfreesboro's proposed mosque.

The agents confirmed an accelerant was used to burn four pieces of construction equipment last weekend. Before the incident can be ruled a hate crime, however, an arrest must be made.

The announcement was made just moments ago at the site of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro. Full coverage will be found on the City Paper site shortly. We'll provide the link when available.

UPDATE: City Paper story now live.

"Moses said no determination could be made about possible hate crime or civil rights charges until after a suspect is arrested."

I hope they're not profiling people by skin color because if it turns out that one of their church members set Ole South's equipment on fire then it should still be ruled a hate crime.

False Flag Arson = Hate. Hugging Dump Truck To Death = Not Hate.

Case in point: The accusations of homophobia by liberals are merely the projection of their own prejudices. See also, Racism.

Phil looks like the type to swing like Mehlman and Craig. If Phil sends young boys emails he would be like Mark Foley. I think Phil is gay.

What's there to forget? Ken Mehlman and Larry Craig have approximately shit to do with anything here.

I thought this post was about the police having no leads on a hate crime that didn't happen so they had to pony up $20k. Not about everyone's antipathy towards fruitloop queerbait.

Speaking of fruitloop queers, when did the Scene moderators get so cool with gay pejoratives? I'm guessing as long as it's not applied to actual fruitloops like the dead one they paid tribute to this week.
