Jon Stewart Takes Aim At Murfreesboro Mosque Kerfuffle, Local Hatemongers

We Middle Tennesseans looked like ignorant hayseeds last night. Nationally. One can only hope Nashville isn't guilty by regional association. Jon Stewart, Prince of weeknight infotainment, sent correspondent Aasif Mandvi to Murfreesboro to speak with mosque opposition leader Laurie Cardoza-Moore, a Zionist cartoon, former anti-abortion lobbyist and president of Tennessee's Proclaiming Justice to the Nations. What followed was by turns hilarious, embarrassing and terrifying. Bear witness.

I really did think she was a joke, that they brought her along from Second City or something.

This was the same clown whose "non-profit" had a political fundraiser for Michelle Bachmann over the winter, correct?

Hell, let them five times a day prostraters do anything they please. I don't give a shit. Unless, one of them happens around my place in Jihadist fervor seeking to do harm to me or mine. Who by the way are as admittedly gleefully infidel as any exisisting anywhere.

C'mon around mother-f---ers. Lets see how a charge of double ought buck goes.

One of these days the Moors are going to put a fatwa on the mainstream media and even the SCENE.

Why does the author of this article need to take a swipe at Jews and Israel? Its nowhere in the piece, just in his own prejudices.
'Zionist cartoon'? What trash writing.

there are squirrels that are grey, and they are called "grey squirrels". there are cartoons that are Zionist, and they are called "Zionist cartoons".

There was no "swipe at Jews and Israel." There was succinct truth about a self-aggrandizing goon who bursts into local issues pretending to be a "neighbor" and a "spokeswoman" so she can promote herself in the guise of supporting Israel.

Cardoza-Moore is what happens when buffoorns like Beck, Palin, and Limbaugh go unchallenged by supposed moderates on the Right. Couple the lack of reasoned conservative opposition with the lack social science education in our schools and we get the makings of a polarized, hatefilled, intolerate U.S. of A.

Wow that's professional journalism. "Local Hatemongers", I wonder what side he's on. I guess those people in Murfreesboro are not as "sophisticated" as you Nashvillians.

Clearly, shane doesn't understand how blogs work. Blogs = news + commentary.

A 'Zionist' Cartoon? No. Just a cartoon. What a sad commentary.

Typical stupid republicans...they never bitched when former President Dick W. Cheney was allowing them people to enter our country in large flocks. Now after Cheney let them in they want to bitch. Go get a job at Halliburton head quartered in a Muslim country. Remember Dick W. Cheney is Halliburton. Stupid GAY ASSED Republicans.

I was thinking about fatwas and wondered if that would be acceptable to the seeming majority on this board?

It might be a fatwa would be issued against those common folks in Murfreesboro who are opposing the mosque. The Muslims do that sort of thing as I understand it. Would it violate any laws?

Why is it that people against a mosque or muslims are hatemongers, while muslims who, by definition and the Koran, want to kill Christians are just peaceful people? Such bias in the media. I wonder if this media existed during WWII if we would call Germans "humanitarians for a better people" or the Japanese as "Reclaimants of ancient lands"?? Such a joke.

I really wonder if those who say that Muslims want to kill non-Muslims ever read the quran... or the bible! As far as I read in the bible, non-believers weren't hugged and kissed. Adulterers weren't celebrated. Gays weren't thrown with flowers. Women weren't presidents.

And Moore is the best joke so far, but it seems that jokes are appealing nowadays (e.g. Palin)

PLEASE...Laurie Moore doesn't even live in or near Murfreesboro-or New York City for that matter!!! What kind of sad woman gets on a plane and travels all the way to NYC to jump into the spotlight because protesters are making the headlines???? Laurie lives in Brentwood-30 minutes away-in a different county as well! She is desperately trying to jump into any drama that is catching the media's attention-in this case, the Mosque drama. Her only motive is promoting herself. Her ultimate goal? Politics. Just a french fry short of a Sarah Palin.
