There's something mind-clearing about a 25-point clubbing at the polls. After returning to Tennessee from a family beach vacation, it finally has dawned on Ron Ramsey that it's really hard to beat a gazillionaire in a political campaign. Also in this little impromptu press conference, Ramsey admits he would have lost the GOP gubernatorial primary even if Zach Wamp hadn't run.
"I don't think Zach ever realized that," he says. So which is worse: To realize you will lose but stubbornly keep running anyway like Ramsey? Or to run like Wamp because you are delusional and you think you will win? Ramsey's post-primary comments lend credence to the scuttlebutt that the main goal of his candidacy was to screw with his nemesis Wamp.

You know, if only Ron had told us in one of those STUUPPppiiidd TV ads that he was running to screw up Wamp, I'd have liked him a whole lot better! I really thought he was running to give Washington the boot. Which really isn't a smart position for the governor of a landlocked state in this nation.
Ramsey needs to go on a second vacation...maybe Ron would then come back to Nashville with the epiphany that he lost the 2010 Tennessee Republican Primary Gubernatorial Election because of his crackpot politics...the Millionaire Tennessee Lt. Governor was too tight to put any more of his own money into his campaign, had the financial backing of the Bristol Melgamillionaire Gregory-Altace machine, and still manage to lose the election.
Tennesseans, this demonstrates that we need to amend the Tennessee State Constitution and have the popular statewide election for the office of Tennessee Lt. Governor.
