Great Tennessee Purple Coneflower News!

Posted by on Tue, Aug 17, 2010 at 9:13 AM

Remember back when I said, "Your chances of seeing a wild Tennessee coneflower on accident are only a little better than your chances of seeing Bigfoot"?

Well, first we get reports that some kids saw Bigfoot over in Wilson County last month.

And this month?

This month we get news that the hard work conservationists and the state (and, okay, the feds, too) have done preserving e. tennesseensis has gone so well that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering removing the Tennessee Purple Coneflower from the list of threatened and endangered species.

Awesome.
