Hilarious to see Jerry Maynard continue to beat the drum begging for Phil Bredesen to get involved in the gubernatorial race after Jerry led the charge to install the incomparably incompetent Chip Forrester as chairman of the TNDP. Decide what you want Democrats: Skilled moderate leadership and political success from the likes of Bredesen? Or bankrupt liberal foolishness and mismanagement from Forrester?
Actually, it doesn't matter at this point. The die was cast when Tennessee Democrats shot themselves in the foot once with the income tax, and a second time with the election of Forrester (not to mention all the shenanigans and embarrassments that happened in the interim thanks to the likes of Gary Odom, his sidekick "Buckets" Pate and the rest of the pettiness faction of the House Democratic Caucus).
Hunker down, Tennessee Democrats. You too, Maynard. It's going to be a long trip into the wilderness.
