Politics Political Debate Tonight: Miglietta v. Binkley v. Marceaux!

Fresh off his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, wacky Internet sensation, scofflaw and, oh yeah, gubernatorial candidate Basil Marceaux (Dot Com) will participate in a debate at 6:30 tonight at Scarritt-Bennett Center's Harambee Auditorium.

Also on the bill: Green Party 5th District congressional candidate John Miglietta and independent gubernatorial candidate Bayron Binkley. The event will be hosted by Bryan Deese of Ethos Magazine and moderated by WSMV's Jonathan Martin.

Is it just me, or is it strange to have a congressional candidate debating gubernatorial candidates? I mean, the issues for a U.S. congressman have little in common with those facing a state's chief executive, no? Anyway, with Marceaux present, this gathering of fringe candidates (and "gold fringe" candidates) is sure to be entertaining. It will be interesting to see if Marceaux's growing celebrity status fills the 185 seats.
