WSJ Whacks Zach Wamp

The Wall Street Journal eviscerates Zach Wamp this morning in an editorial headlined "Zach Wamp's Rebel Yell," calling the congressman "an epic spender and earmarker" for the TVA and "other federal boondoggles."

On the National Taxpayers Union's annual fiscal responsibility scorecard, Mr. Wamp rated 54% in 2004, 62% in 2005 and 56% in 2006 during the dissolute late period of the Republican majority, down from 87% in 1995. He told NPR in 2006 amid backbench attempts to impose even modest spending discipline that "You know, I will defend until my death the ability of the Congress to direct the funding or to earmark projects."

Mr. Wamp is once again trying to appeal to the GOP's opposition to big government, but Tennessee voters will want to look at his priorities when he was in a position of actual power.

Update: Ramsey uses the WSJ editorial in a fund-raising email.

While I remain focused on the issues as I speak with the voters of Tennessee, Congressman Wamp is being attacked by the conservative Wall Street Journal. It’s kind of hard to call yourself a true conservative while, simultaneously, the Wall Street Journal is attacking you for reckless spending. Check out the article below and see for yourself why Congressman Wamp is an unacceptable choice for Governor…

Actually, Wamp is perfectly in line with the rest of the Republican party. You know, talk about the big bad federal government while in reality working to fuel the fire. To distract the public from the blatant hypocrisy, just talk about God, guns, gays, and of course, the evil illegal immigrants. It's the legacy that Ronald Reagan left them.

Don't bring Ronald Reagan into this, loser! Mr. Reagan was a great man, one of the greatest in the history of the universe! And Zach Wamp was only helping the great state of Tennessee with his earmarks, as opposed to people like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi who use earmarks to take away your freedom! You'll wake up when you suddenly find yourself a part of the Proletariat and reciting your allegiance to the Supreme Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, while being forced to pray to Mecca 8 times a day.

To Angry White patriot: why are you so angry?find jesus and let him into your heart and that will solve your anger issues, who is forcing you to pray to mecca 8 times a day that is 3 times more than even devote muslims pray so that is not legal ,any kind of forced pray is illegal, now I agree with you on Reagan being a great man ,I wish my party will go back to REAGAN republican and be civilized,Radicals have taken over the republican party and destroying the party day by day and turnning into party of anger and hate which pulls us apart further if you are a real patriot then cut out your hate and anger and remember united we stand divided we fail,.

You're not understanding me. I actually love everybody, except liberals, illegals, commies, gays, metrosexuals, Muslims, people who don't use their blinkers, anybody who uses Twitter, Hollywood actors, except for the great John Voight, people who shop at Banana Republic, and Mac users! There aren't many of these people in good ole Tennessee, at least outside of East Nashville, where I refuse to go!

So next time don't stereotype me please!!!!!
