GOP Issues Empty Threat Against Yarbro

Republicans are so desperate to keep Douglas Henry in the state Senate that they are threatening to go "all in" to beat Jeff Yarbro should he win next month's Democratic primary. Wait a minute—shouldn't that make true Democrats want to vote for Yarbro all the more? From Sen. Jack Johnson, R-Brentwood:

“We’re going to fight hard to win the seat regardless, but if this Yarbro guy wins the primary then we are all in. We know how tough it will be to win against Sen. Henry. This Yarbro guy is running so far to the left, that we will come after it hard.”

Big whoop. Sean Braisted shoots down Johnson's empty blather, pointing out only a couple of chuckleheads are running as Republicans in this Democratic district and neither would have a chance against Yarbro. Johnson should have kept his mouth shut. He has succeeded only in highlighting the open secret of this contest: Henry is a Republican in disguise and always has been, and the GOP would love to keep him around to thwart the wishes of the big majority of his constituents.
