On Bob Mueller's show, Steve Gill defends Lou Ann Zelenik's outrageous statement about the Islamic community center in Murfreesboro. Gill goes on a rant against mosques that have been funded by extremists in this country, implying the Murfreesboro Islamic center will send suicide bombers into our midst. Just before the show ends, the other panelist, Bob Tuke, manages to point out that Gill is full of it.
"We're not talking about religious freedom here. We're not talking about just a standard religious mosque or a Buddhist temple. We're talking about certain mosques that are being funded by the Muslim Brotherhood by money that is associated with Hamas and Hezbollah. You need to follow the money."

Yep, there haven't been any mosques in the U.S. producing any terrorists at all...unless you count the 9-11 terrorists, the Christmas underwear bomber, Faisal "the Times Square Bomber", or Maj. Malik Nidal Hasan...all of who were affiliated with radical mosques in the U.S. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=…
The point is that you need to follow the money and see if a mosque is tied to the radical funding or not. The Murfreesboro mosque has not revealed where their money is coming from to fund this multimillion dollar expansion. And the media is more intent on misrepresenting the issue, as Woods has done, rather than asking the simple question: "where is the money coming from?"
Conservatives never pass on an opportunity to demagogue.
Demagogue what? Who funds that mosque is a legitimate question. If Tuke knows I assume Woods knows so why not share. The Muslims got themselves in this and it seems only reasonable to be forthcoming about what they will preach and who sponsors them.
"The Muslims got themselves in this"? do you scared people even think about what you're posting? so when a Christian commits horrible murder, as happens every single day in this country, do you get equally riled up about where their church gets its funding?
What is the basis for an individual's right to know where a church's money comes from? Or what they will preach? I don't think you will find that individual right in a free society. Now if the TBI, FBI, or a court or other agency with cause and jurisdiction wants to know then any church should be forthcoming.
If you are afraid of American muslims and their mosques, you are free to be afraid, but it is not your right to impose on their freedom out of your fear.
That is ridiculous, TC. No one is imposing anything on anyone. You have a right to ask and they can decline to answer.
When you take off your shoes at the security line and go through holding up your pants you can, quite correctly, think Muslims did this to me. Or, if you are in Ft Hood and your husband got killed you can think about Muslims, too.
No, I'm not getting riled up about Christians because they do not behave the way Muslims do.
Have you stayed in a limited service hotel lately? Had a Subway sandwich? Made a purchase at a Discount Tobacco or non branded convenience store? It's alarming how most of these businesses here in Middle Tennessee and our entire Country are owned by foreign born Americans. My personal experience has been working for a few of these businesses. I have found the two business owners I worked for in local hotels to both be angry narcissistic and extremely two faced. They pay the very minimum in wages and while they are well insured, they most always offer no benefits in employment. Actually I found them to be prejudiced, they associate mostly exclusively in a tight group of their own and have little interest in anything but enriching themselves. It's somewhat terrifying to realize they own most all these businesses. We go on with our days & lives enriching these millionaires who see and treat us as an underclass. I am not a hater; this is just a candid observation as Mosques cover America.
"MyNashvilleVoice": why don't you go out and work hard and buy a bunch of motels or tobacco stores or Subway franchises?
Or would you rather whine about someone else's hard work? Pathetic.

What??? They're Republican!
Steve Gill must be in heaven. This type of controversy is what those of his ilk pray for. In my opinion most of these types (right, left, whatever) couldn't care less about the meat of the controversy as long as they get to rant about it and raise their ratings. As for the controversy itself. It is true that a relatively small number of Muslim extreamists have perpetrated harm on this country and continue to look for ways to do so. And then there are people like Tim McVeigh, who professed to be a Christian, and yet committed an atrocity in his home country. What about Christians like David Koresch, or Jim Jones? Or the Christians that blow up family planning centers and kill doctors that perform abortions? They all think that they are right and there are those that agree with them. So, shouldn't the FBI, CIA, whatever, be involved in keeping an eye on groups like the Southern Baptist Convention, the Jesuits, the Jewish Anti-defamation League (insert any religious organization you wish)? Politicians that pander to ignorance and fear won't get my support, ever.
