“The congressman also chooses to ignore the fact that he has accepted money from the Cherokee Nation Business Political Action Committee — a special interest group that represents the Cherokee Nation Business, whose entertainment branch owns and operates numerous casinos. Not only is that incredibly hypocritical, it violates two pledges the congressman made: his 1994 campaign pledge to not accept PAC money as well as his revised 2003 pledge to at least not take money from PACs representing alcohol, tobacco, and gambling interests. Tennessee doesn’t need a hypocritical career politician from Washington, D.C. with a history of broken promises to tell us how to run our state.”
