Wamp Defies Curse of the Class of '94, Remains Happily Married, According to His Children

Another member of the House Republicans' famous Class of '94 has fallen in a sex scandal. That makes 15 of these "family values" Republicans who have been caught in affairs or nasty separations or divorces. Notoriously, their number includes Mark Sanford, John Ensign and Mark Foley. The latest is Rep. Mark Souder of Indiana who confessed his infidelity yesterday and resigned. His paramour reportedly was his co-host in an abstinence education video on his congressional website.

So boy, what a relief it was this morning to receive an email from Zach Wamp's children! Wamp also marched in the forefront of the Republican Revolution with the Class of '94. But we don't have to worry about his marriage. According to their children, Coty and Weston, Zach and Kim Wamp still are madly in love and they'd like you to send a campaign contribution to help them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

"This week, Mom and Dad have been married 25 wonderful years, and we hope you will join us in wishing them many, many more!" Coty and Weston say.

Family man... that's what I like to see in someone who is going to represent our state. Looks like he's got two kids that are also in big support of Mom and Dad.

How old is his daughter? If she's over 18 she's kind of hot, otherwise it would be creepy for me to comment on it.

Wamp is a standup guy. I sure hope he wins. He deserves to because he has lead an exemplery life for over 25 years. Wish I could say that.

Wamp is an addict, and, as such, all I want to know is whether or not he is working a program to stay clean. Someone in a similar comment said he had some issues in the 80's, but that it's all behind him. Addiction is never just an 'issue' and it is never behind you.

I can't stand the way he sings, but I love to hear him talk.

OTOH, it's fun to say Zach Wamp the way the AFLAC duck would.

who gives a shit? if we're really going to hold our politicians to these standards - particularly ones who build their entire political platforms platforms around their personal definitions of "family values" - all I want to hear is how "stand up" guys like Wamp are going to push for the forced resignations of their hypocritical compatriots. since that's about as likely as colonizing the sun, well, i'd rather these sanctimonious jackasses just shut up about it.

I'd just like to say that Wamp spoke at my college graduation in 1995, and all he talked about was how much he hated Bill Clinton. It was not exactly inspiring.
