The Tennessee Report's Mike Morrow ventured up to Clarksville yesterday to see Zach Wamp on the dusty campaign trail. Apparently, the Wampster already had downed his requisite 44 Red Bulls for the day because, before he stopped talking, Morrow had a story as long as his arm. Wamp tosses grenades at Mike McWherter, Bill Haslam and Washington ethics watchdogs and promises his campaign will start airing TV ads "very soon." We can't wait.

On McWherter's promised tax breaks for jobs-creating businesses, Wamp says:

“Anyone who’s talking about tax breaks as soon as they become governor right now is just trying to throw out some empty campaign promise, in my opinion."

McWherter's campaign fires back: “Zach Wamp’s spent way too long in Washington, and he’s busy finding excuses how not to get things done.”
