Elegant celeb Gwyneth Paltrow's been living here the last few months while filming the movie Love Don't Let Me Down, a comeback tale of country stardom we told you about recently. While here, we know she rolled up on Mercy Lounge for some singin' and dancin'. We know she played a fake concert for filming purposes for her character Kelly Canter, and we know she showed up at the Station Inn that one time hangin' with Reese. But that's not all! She wrote about her time here on her famous (oft-mocked) blog/newsletter about nourished living, GOOP, and guess what she did while here?
Uh, you know, all the stuff tourists do? A quick skim shows Paltrow hit pretty much every tourist destination you could hope to see in Music City: The Ryman, Grand Ole Opry, Arnold's, Robert's, Loveless, And Prince's. And Swett's. It's cool that the meticulous, carefully maintained celeb was open to hot chicken and all the meat and threes that abound here: Paltrow was rumored to have given up her macrobiotic diet while living here, and who could blame her, because, to our knowledge, lard isn't one of the five elements in that list of approved foods.
"Never have I met such warm people, heard such good music, eaten so much fried chicken...I could go on and on," she writes. And next week, she promises to cover all the "other stuff" she did that wasn't food- or music-related. Stay tuned.

You mean only tourists go to Station Inn, and Swett's, and Arnold's, and the Ryman, and Prince's? I had no idea. I've been living here 30 years and I'm not supposed to go to those places lest I be branded a tourist? And that's something to be snarky about, to boot? hmmm.
I'm a little embarrassed to say this but GOOP is one of my guilty pleasures. I like the recipes.

Thank god for breathless validation from celebrities for things we already knew. What a relief.
Why so defensive Sally Field? GP wasn't validating Nashville. She was simply paying the city and people and food a compliment. As many of us do when we visit another city. Didn't your mother teach you any manners. When someone says something nice to you, the appropriate response is 'thank you." Good thing she didn't run across you..she may not have felt the love. I know many crew members who worked on the movie with her and the universal response was how nice she was. Does that validate her?
