John Lennon Biopic 'Nowhere Boy' Opens 2010 Nashville Film Festival

Posted by on Wed, Mar 3, 2010 at 9:52 AM

Nowhere Boy, director Sam Taylor-Wood's account of the early life of John Lennon, will open the 2010 Nashville Film Festival on April 15, the festival announced this morning. Fresh from its showing at Sundance, the film focuses on the adolescent Lennon (Aaron Johnson) and his relationships with his mother (Anne-Marie Duff) and his Aunt Mimi (Kristin Scott Thomas). A famed British conceptual artist and photographer making her feature debut, Taylor-Wood supplied perhaps the best 15 minutes of film anywhere to be found in last year's NaFF: her 2008 short "Love You More," a thrilling portrait of two teens discovering a mutual intoxication with the Buzzcocks and each other. There's been no announcement yet on whether she or any of Nowhere Boy's stars will attend.
