Birdwatchers Turn Against Wamp

Pith naturally assumed Zach Wamp was talking out his ass the other day when he said coal mining is good for the birds. But perhaps because of a lack of familiarity with the wacky Wampster, Anne Paine took him seriously and she checked out his claim. When that pesky Paine started asking Wamp to explain himself--surprise!--he was forced to admit he didn't actually mean what he said. Wamp now says he was talking about mine reclamation. That's what good for the birds, not blowing the tops off mountains. When coal companies clean up the messes they created in the first place, that's good for the environment. OK but even then, ornithologists tell Paine, Wamp's still full of it. Coal mining tears up bird habitat. That's bad for birds, no matter how you slice it. Tennessee Ornithological Society President Richard Preston wrote a letter to Wamp to express distress over his comments. Wamp must be pleased. While he may have lost the birdwatcher vote with this little contretemps, he's riding even higher with his target demographic--right-wing loons. (Pun intended. Get it?) Ronald Reagan was constantly saying dumb things about the environment, among other topics. Remember this one? "Trees cause more pollution than automobiles do." Or how about this gem? "A tree is a tree. How many more do you have to look at?" Wamp is Reaganesque!

In Chattanooga, we tend to lower our head in embarrassment on a regular basis. Wamp is our Congressman. Washington Wamp’s campaign lacks intelligent life forms. Wamp has mounted a campaign against environmental regulators with TDEC, and employees of TDOT. In a non-sophisticated thought to build a common enemy theme to gain votes. The public needs to get the real Zach Facts, Google C Street.

I don't know much about birds or why people watch them, but I am highly honored that The Scene would choose to put my name in the caption below a picture of Mr. Reagan, the single greatest leader in western history. I plan on using that picture with that caption in my campaign, so thank you Jeff Woods for the idea!!!!!

The Zach Wamp Automatic Replier is representative of the depth of this candidate for Governor. I truly fear for the mindless decision making of Zach Wamp, and the future of sustainable environmental decison making in Tennessee. Wamp is not a quality candidate. The environmental community need to rally and vote in the republican primary, to ensure that Wamp is not elected.
