One World Government, the Illuminati and Other Weird Conspiracies at the Tea Party

Update: The crazy came out again at Friday night's dinner. Joseph Farah, the birther who runs World Net Daily, spent his speech questioning whether President Obama's election was legitimate. He vowed to make sure that "signs saying 'Where's the Birth Certificate'" appear at every Obama campaign stop in 2012.
This morning's opening session of the tea party convention was devoted to denouncing science and other stuff. A woman popped up to proclaim: "It's U.N. Agenda 21: Bring in comprehensive planning!" (That's not to be confused with U.N. Agenda 20.) This prompted the speaker, Steven Millroy of JunkScience.com, to warn against the New World Order. They're plotting to take away your SUV! We didn't hear anyone mention the Illuminati. Guess they're saving that for the 10 o'clock breakout discussion.
"You're absolutely right," Millroy said. "I talk about this in my book. If you ever hear the term smart growth, run away. Because the idea is they don't like us living in the suburbs. They don't like us owning land. They want us all in urban areas on mass transit. They want to take away your car. This is really happening. Global warming is the theme that runs through all of this. They say, we need to shrink our environmental footprint so the government can own everything. ... President Obama is not a U.S. socialist. He's an international socialist. He envisions one world government. That's what his whole plan is."
The next speaker, Memphis tea party leader Mark Skoda, went on a rant against convention critics:
"There are those who would love to use the pejoratives, the words that suggest sexual innuendo. As I woke up this morning, I got this wonderful email that I couldn't read to you if I wanted to right now. It degrades women. It degrades Sarah Palin. It uses words that I would not ever use even in my own worst moments. Let me say this to you ladies and gentlemen, the discourse on the left goes quickly down into the cellar because the truth of their arguments cannot be sustained by the realities we face today." "There are those who believe this isn't grassroots enough. I suggest to you that I don't need to be in sack cloth begging for alms because I choose to be successful in America."

Why is the Nashville Scene, and for that matter, any other respectable media outlet, reporting on the Tea Party Convention? Granting them coverage only adds fuel to their fire and credibility to their movement. Just because Fox News takes them seriously doesn't mean everyone else has to as well.

Call me crazy, but somehow I don't think the coverage they're getting from the Scene, or anyone else who's reporting what's actually going on in there, is buttressing the Tea Party Movement's credibility.

Brantley -- You're crazy. Actually I agree with you, but you said to call you crazy, so I thought I'd fulfill your request.

I suppose this site does not pretend to be an impartial reporter, but even so, this is a somewhat disingenuous review.
Whether it's the Tea Party, teabaggers, or individual Americans, I personally fail to see the offense in supporting the freedom of the individual and defense of what many seem to believe are unalienable rights. The Federal government - whether led by Obama or Bush or somebody else - is mandated to respect those rights and not impair them.
Exactly what is it that scares you all about less central government? What grounds do you have to judge that a central government is the proper vehicle to solve problems or is even capable of solving problems?

Hell. It doesn't even pretend to be a reporter.

So is Milloy/Millroy suggesting it would be better if the president were just a regular, old "U.S. Socialist" (whatever the hell that is; is it like a "U.S. American"?)? Is the truly scary thing that he's an "international socialist"?

"Exactly what is it that scares you all about less central government? "
Liberals have an incessent desire to stick their nose into other people's business and their hands into other people's wallets.
A smaller central government reduces their capabilty to do that.

No conspiracy -- it's being pushed in all the schools.
And yes, it's Agenda 21 - based on junk science and the population control myth.
Sad.. our kids are being abused in public schools like this.
Just read this PDF file and you'll see what they are talking about... it's so widespread that the currently brainwashed think it's OK and go along with it.

Gilbert, I'm currently producing a video series that gives point by point instructions on everything from How To Spot A Liberal to How to Ambush A Liberal. One of my lessons is going to be What To Do When A Liberal Gets Too Close To Your Wallet. I just need a way to market my product. Anybody have any suggestions?

yOU GUYS LIKE conspiracy? i GOT A great one:
Rupert Murdoch leads FOREIGNERS charge to “divide and conquer” the USA.
Part I66 - “THE LUNTZ MEMO”
So let me get this straight… There’s American citizens like Frank Luntz who believe LYING to the American PEOPLE is the right way to go. Rather than reform and regulate those that participated in the CORPORATE CRIME WAVE that almost destroyed the US economy. I’ve been looking at the Luntz background and I think we don’t need any more proof this man is at best a HO for the rich and powerful, at worst a TRAITOR to everything the USA stands for.
I’ve researched the AM Radio Free Conservative/FOX News propaganda machine and it turns out spokespersons like Luntz, Beck, Hannity are working for foreign special interests that want to “divide and conquer” the American PEOPLE. Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. is now controlled by Saudi Prince Alwaleed.
NOTE: (did you see the video of Ailes, O’Reilly, Hannity, Beck and the rest of FOX news puppets lining up t0 kiss the right shoulder of the Saudi Royals. It’s even more sickening than all the hand holding/kissing Bush Jr. used to do at the ranch in Crawford TX. George W. Bush always resembled a smitten school girl ever time he was in the presence of Saudi Royals or BIG OIL)
These Conservative morons are always preaching about fighting terrorism but they allowed the Saudi Royals and Communist Chinese to do a hostile takeover of our most valuable industry and resources. One more Republican in the Whitehouse or takeover of Congress and the American PEOPLE will be UNDER THE THUMB of a Multi-National Corporate Police State…
Then you silly, stupid, scared, victimized, self-absorbed, apathetic, racist, celebrity worshipping right-wing numbskulls will have to explain to your children/grandchildren how you let FREEDOM to become a delicate concept.
Thanks for NOTHING you right-wing monkeys… Isn’t there ANYONE in NYC with the balls to w**** these Conservative traitors?

Well, right off the bat you are full of crap. There is no Agenda 20, but there an Agenda 21. You shouldn't mock what you don't know or understand.

As for the rest of it, it is irrelevant because the neocons took it over. It's just more of the same old garbage from the GOP.

"Exactly what is it that scares you all about less central government? "
Ask the Little Rock 9 what they fear in a less central government, and you'll know what scares me.
I fear my ignorant bully of a neighbor, when given greater authority over our shared immediate environment, than someone in DC with whom I have more in common.
"States' Rights" is a quaint notion for a time when all we had were boats and horses to connect our world.

Liberals have an incessent desire to stick their nose into other people's business and their hands into other people's wallets.
Like conservatives don't?
You do know about they Pentagon? About the Iraq war for Halliburton? About the billions they sunk into Iraq and Afghanistan? About the privatization of the military? About the billions they've spent to build a national security state?
How about the bailouts Bu$hie & Paulson designed to save their own base that's gambled away your future? There's more debt created to cover banks "too big to fail" than entitlements like medicare or social security could ever spend.
But conservatives don't just steal from your wallet to fund their own private contracting. They also try to control what's going on in your bedroom, too.
The saddest part of this silliness is there is no such thing as real liberalism or real conservatism or real socialism or real capitalism in government. It's all big money and who steals it.

It was clear at CPAC while this IRS attack was happenening, that Mitt Romney is going to be President in 4 years. First it looked like Sarah, but the Reptilian Agenda seems to have switched gears. Obama himself admitted he was a one termer.
I hear that they have recently released an engineered insect with nono-tech GPS device that gets in your skin and makes you itch alot. The insects spread in the skin and from person to person. It started in the Southern US, clearly because we tend to be more independant minded.
