Leave it to the "Ten Commandments judge" to inject gay bashing into the tea party convention. In his big speech this afternoon, Roy Moore castigated President Obama for the far-right's usual litany of offenses and added this one for good measure: Obama had the audacity to issue a proclamation for "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month." To Moore, that means the president "has elevated immorality to a new level."
"Go forth armed in the holy cause of liberty," he told the cheering tea partiers.
Here's the money quote from the judge who became a conservative hero for his refusal, as the elected chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, to remove a monument of the Ten Commandments from the state courthouse:
"[Obama] has ignored our history and our heritage, arrogantly declaring to the world that we are no longer a Christian nation. He has elevated immorality to a new level, setting aside the entire month of June to celebrate gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender pride. He now threatens to change our law to allow homosexuality in our military ... He's apologized to the Arab world for our past, subjugated our national sovereignty by bowing down to the king of Saudi Arabia. He has pursued a socialist agenda by taking control of private companies and pushing a national health care plan with a public option. Backed by a willing Congress, he's bought off our senators and representatives with our own money in an effort to mandate his agenda."

And so it begins. You just new that the tea baggers couldn't get together to discuss fiscal policy without dipping into social issues. By the end of the day it will all devolve into a far-right circle jerk with Palin in the middle. Roy Moore is only slightly less looney than Michele Bachmann:

The icing on the cake was Joseph Farah and the Birther fest during his speech.
That was really unbelievable and it was there on C-Span for the world to see.
If Palin had a brain in her head she would not show up on Saturday night. If she gets with these kooks she will never be taken seriously by the voters she needs to garner...(Thank you God.)
After all of them, Farah, the Judge and Tancredo, these people are not concerned with small governemnt, they hate Barack Obama and the Deomcratic Party.

Charging $600 for tickets to the Tea Party Convention, so attendees can eat steak and lobster at the Opryland while listening to a mainstream politician (Sarah Palin) who's being paid $115k to give a speech - this is supposed to be a grassroots populist movement aimed at changing the status quo in DC? LOL.
What you saw was a Tea Party event. Which is not the same as the Tea Party Movement.

As to Tea Party fraud? For charging money? OK I'm down wit that. The Government is a bigger fraud. It makes me pay for things I don't even want at the point of a gun.

It amazes me that white people want it both ways. If Obama was 100% white, the tea party would not even exist.
It may be hard to have a black man in office but it was hard to have a white man in office.

I have to agree with The Hurricane. Both political parties are screwing the American people out of our God-given unalienable rights.
Now, my friends on the Left will see the phrase "God-given unalienable rights" and will most likely proceed to call me names like: racist, bigot, gay-basher, etc. You all are wrong for a variety of reasons.
I'm a student of American history and I, unlike anyone on the Left so far as I can tell, understand AND embrace the proper, relationship between the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and how the two function to secure our rights. Our Republic was never meant to function as a grab bag of goodies to whomever has the ear of the current administration. That is what it has become under politicians of both major political parties. And the American people are poorer for it.
The Republican establishment is little better than the Left, because they have taken the position (most especially during the W Administration) that big spending is good, so long as it advances ostensibly conservative causes. That is WRONG, and true conservatives are paying the price for our silence. Our credibility was harmed considerably during the Bush administration.
We are in grave danger, for our future as a free people is at stake with the reckless spending of Barack Obama and his congressional allies. Bush was bad, but what we are witnessing now is mind-bogglingly worse. Our national debt will, sooner or later, impact our ability to make decisions as a free people that are solely in the best interests of the United States of America.
I'd love to hear one of my clear-thinking friends on the Left tell me what we're going to do when China demands repayment of the money we owe them. What leverage will we have when our military is stripped to the bone and the dollar is worthless? Will we be forced to accede American territory?
Money is a test for individuals, businesses and nations. It is a test of ones character and word.

Well- I certainly agree (despite being Muslim) a Christian Nation (as created by the Founding Fathers- should NOT indulge in the Yiddish deification of sexual perversions and all manner of immorality.
Agreed- it indeed is an extreme assault on normality, society and morality- as encoded by all the world's major religions- Hinduism, Buddhism,Jainism, Sikkhism, Islam, Catholicism, Protestantism.

Call it what you like, but homosexuality is an abomination before God. It is a blight on society. No society that ever endorsed homosexuality survived very long. Homosexuals are cursed by a curse. They spread disease to other adults and children. Homosexuality is a tremendous shame on society. Truly responsible people should do everything in their power to dissuade, and disband homosexuals and their activities in America if we want to see this country survive. There is no such thing as "Sexual Preference." Sex was designed by God and there's nothing you can do to change it. You may have a Religious preference, but you do not have a sexual preference.
