"I can't imagine. I had a call from a fellow governor saying, 'what's this I hear?' I had no idea what they were talking about, and they told me, and I said, 'That is the craziest idea I've ever heard.' I believe that I shot that in the heart pretty quickly." "I called up the DGA (Democratic Governors Association) where this person said they had heard about it, and they said that someone on a talk show on Sunday had said there's a Democratic governor somewhere [switching parties] so they were all speculating about who that might be. They thought me or Joe Manchin up in West Virginia or somebody out in Wyoming, you know, some of these conservative states. I assured them it's not me. I have no intention. I love being in the party. I'm a happy Democrat just as I have been since I was a freshman in college."

Did he become a Democrat his freshman year before or after the Cambridge police were chasing him around?
He's a happy DINO, but still a step above most out of the closet Reps.
I don't care if he is a Donkey or an Elephant, I'd vote for him either way.
The same goes for our next governor. I'll support the candidate who is most like Phil.
I am a registered Republican, but if Bredesen ran again, I'd vote for him.
He has been good for Tennessee, has tried his best to handle the TNCARE fiasco and has kept his word of NO income tax.
He is also a great Commander in Chief of the TN National Guard. He has given our troops the assets necessary for mission readiness on a state level.
He may be a DINO, but he's a dang good one.
