Bowing to media criticism, organizers have agreed to let reporters cover Sarah Palin's speech here next month at what's billed as the first-ever tea party national convention. Tea Party Nation is hosting the event at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. From PR Newswire:
Tea Party Nation Is Pleased to Make the Following Announcement Regarding the First National Tea Party Convention

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- "At Governor Palin's request, her presentation will be open to all media."

The Minneapolis Star Tribune was one media outlet that's been complaining. In a blog post on its conversation with Tea Party Nation president Judson Phillips, the Star Tribune wrote:

If the secrecy sounds a little, well, un-American, Phillips has this explanation: It's not a political convention, but a "working convention." It appears that sometimes the right of the people to peaceably assemble is best conducted out of view.

Here at the Capitol pressroom, the PR Newswire announcement prompted groans. "Now we have to cover her," one reporter growled.

Palin has also gotten a job at the Republican's media outlet, Fox News. It's quite amusing, to say the least, that those guys continue with the tag "Fair and Balanced."

Anyways, look at the bright side: that convention should have some good people watching potential.!

Chris - Are you kidding me? What is so awesome about Palin? Pretty, greedy face hiding a lack of brains and experience? Willing to make things up (lie with a smirk), e.g., death panels? Fails to follow through on commitments such as being the elected governor of Alaska for her full term? Please define awesome as it relates to Palin. She is a national embarrassment.

I have to laugh... chris allen posts with a link to andrew sullivan... the tin foil idiot who thinks Palin had an immaculate conception and when he's home, puts on his dress and gets all riled up because he doesn't come close to looking as good as Palin...
next thing we'll see a link to bill mahr or the newsreporter extraordinaire for the liberal dolts, jon stewart...

"Dammit, Now We Have to Cover Her"
That's a load of BS. Most of those media hacks slip Palin's name into stuff not even about her, just to increase hits on their pathetic columns. They'll love covering Palin's speech, because now more than a handful of people will read what they have to say.

I will raise $2 million USD for Governor Sarah Palin should she decide to run for the presidency. There are tens of millions of us out here who will do ANYTHING we can to see her in the Oval Office and Dear Leader back lecturing about the "living constitution" at the University of Chicago.

“Stop lying, Nashville Scene. You know you guys are giddy about seeing Sarah.”
You got that right Sherry. She's gorgeous. Who gives a shit whether she knows anything about Muslim warlords or tribal chieftans. Let the uniforms take care of them. And in the mean time we'll gleefully ogle the Governor wherever she turns up.
Needless to say, ogling Sarah is infinitely finer than ogling (if you can call it that) Hilary.

Why do Fox news keep promoting this bimbo?
If God would have intended for Palin to be a politician, he would have given her a brain.

She's making megabucks to speak to a highly organized "grassroots" convention that is going to charge over $500 per person (over $300 just to see Sarah speak) and STILL her fans think she speaks to and for real Americans because she is one. And why do they keep calling her governor? She's not a governor, she quit part way through her term. She's a talking head now, a pretty tv face. Let's just call her Sarah Palin, or Ms Sarah Palin, or FOX TV Consultant Sarah Palin. Let's stop pretending she's got anything to do with political leadership. And for God's sakes, let's stop pretending she's outside the elite and outside the media. Anyone making that kind of money commanding that kind of major news network air time is hardly "outside." Face it folks, she's happily in bed with the very people she's been so critical of. She's main stream media now, rich, and she's courting big business and corrupt politicians.

Woah there buddy. Tell us how you really think. Tell me there James, what part of his post is incorrect, regardless of his sexuality? And why does every other pro-Palin post focus on her looks? We certainly know her constituency- uptight, conservative white guys.

And by the way, James. Sullivan was just commenting on a much longer editorial by David Frum, a conservative Republican! And Sullivan himself is a flat-tax advocating libertarian, hardly a liberal.

Why bother going? You already have your mind made up as to what you'll write about her. Typical liberal drivel. Save yourself the gas money -- just pretend you were there and write the story now.

You really shouldn't still be entitled to the title 'Governor' when you quit the job - quit on the people who voted for you and quit on your state - in order to cash in on your fresh celebrity (funny how none of her supporters care about that).
'Quitter Palin' is more appropriate.

What I love about Sarah is that she isn't pretentious. I may not agree with her on every issue, but she's real and that, me thinks, is the problem most of those posting negative comments can't deal with. We need more independents like Palin who could care less about political correctness.

Is that a joke? She's extremely pretentious. And she's hardly independent, regardless of what she says. I will say she will go against her fellow Republicans from time to time but only when they get in the way of #1- that is herself and her endless ambition. What's funny is she is nothing more than a Republican Hillary. It's amazing people can't see that.
"I will raise $2 million USD for Governor Sarah Palin should she decide to run for the presidency."
And Emily Goldman, please, please do what you can to get her the Rep nomination. You will be insuring a 2nd term for Obama.

Chris Allen says: Oblahblah's the most "fair and balanced" political act EVER!
Yeah right, Chrissy; Oblahblah's cutting backroom deals to get this STUPID heathcare hype made into law. FYI: When you have to make backroom deals with the left hand to get it to cooperate, you end up one-handed. Probably okay for masterbation, but not for the ballgame.

Because the list of approved media, who will get to cover her (Fox News, Breitbart.com, Townhall.com, The Wall Street Journal, and World Net Daily), covers such a wide, unbiased spectrum of opinion. Poor Wall Street Journal -- I wonder how they feel being in that company?
