Morning Roundup: A Dream Date with Steve Gill

Posted by Betsy Phillips on Tue, Dec 8, 2009 at 7:53 AM

Tonight's the night for Steve Gill's Townhall Meeting on the Convention Center. ... Wanna see how ugly it gets when U.S. Supreme Court justices fight? Watch Clarence Thomas put a smackdown on John Paul Stevens over the (then) impending Cecil Johnson execution, with Liz Garrigan doing the play-by-play. ... Mark your calendars: there's caroling on Music Row this Friday. ... You can also get into the Christmas spirit, if that's your thing, by helping get presents for foster kids. ... Fisk University is set to find out tomorrow whether they will retain their accreditation. ... The Mayor is expected to reveal his plans for charter school development today. ... Kids these days. When I was 19, I was going to school, maybe getting drunk on weekends, wondering what I was going to do when I graduated. Michael Tangredi is the CFO of his family's business and facing additional tax evasion charges. Back in my day, kids just weren't that ambitious. We waited until we were at least in our 20s before we evaded taxes! And we had to walk uphill both ways in the snow to run afoul of the IRS. And we liked it!

Oh, those crazy Tangredi's and their tax evasion charges. Just when a few weeks pass since the last time they were in the papers - there they go again. Who needs the comics in the papers when the Tangredi's are filling up the pages
