Radio Fred: Thompsonism of the Month

We haven't checked in with Fred Thompson's broadcast narcotism in a while, but a quick pop-in this week found him auditioning for the cover of Hypocrite Monthly, and an impressive audition it is.

On his radio show Thursday Fred waxed jingoistic on the subject of Afghanistan, declaring that "the war has been lost" because "the president does not have the will and determination to do what's necessary to win it."

Compare that with Thompson's reaction a couple of years ago to a statement by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that the war in Iraq was "lost." Thompson went ballistic, accusing Reid of "encouraging our enemies to believe that they are winning the critical war of will."

You the man, Fred. (h/t Think Progress.)

I think Fred was far to busy with counting how many tryst he could get. He has bragged about those ,maybe that's what kept Fred out of Nam while my Ex was there in his place . Fred your a total waste.

As Ol' Fred likes to say, you folks keep your powder dry. Fred is a member in good standing of our fine, patriotic organization.

Why does Fred Thompson hate our troops? Why does he give aid and comfort to our enemies?

Seems like everyone is missing the point. Senator Reid was crying "The war is lost!" to make President Bush look bad. In doing so he gave hope to Al Qaeda. President Obama's dithering is giving the Taliban and Al Qaeda added incentive to carry on which, of course, will result in more American deaths.

Fred Thompson is just a part of the blame-America-first crowd. It's outrageous that he would say something so damaging to the morale of our troops.
Anyone that defends Fred Thompson is an America hater, too.

Other than Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, they are all hypocrites in Washington. They are all owned by private interests and have caused the fall of our republic

This war has nothing to do with terrorism or winning or losing. It's about fueling the Milittery Industrial Complex and expanding the Anglo American Empire

And then there's this issue from another fine GOP Tennessean, Congressman Blackburn...
Marsha Blackburn voted to allow foreign countries to dump their nuclear waste in TN! I don’t think any Tennesseans would agree with that vote. Specifically a company was trying to import 20,000 tons of low level radioactive waste from Italian nuclear facilities for processing. The bill in question banned the importation of nuclear waste.

I see both she and Sen. Alexander received campaign donations from the nuclear industry (Southern Nuclear Operating Company), yet Alexander opposes the importation of nuclear waste.

Doesn't matter, does it Bruce? It's all Marsha Blackburn's fault.

This is all part of the newly discovered libertarian streak that the reformed, new-and-improved, not-at-all-neoconservative Republican party has discovered.
You see, government spending is bad. And government is bad. And we should all be free - unless we are women, Latinos, poor, sick, Jews, or homosexuals, in which case ... well, then we're on the wrong side of the law and "real America".

No, the real mantra is 'all government is bad unless and until we, the Republicans, are in charge.

"Actually it looks like the Neocons have gone on over to Obama- where they can keep their NSA Wire taps, their Patriot Act, their torcher and as Borrat would say their "war of terror," amnesty for their illegal slave labor, bailouts for bankster buddies. I can keep going but I would get typers cramp

Yes, leaving out the church attendance
shouldn't be left out. It actually tells
us a lot about our President! The
Anglo-American Empire is certainly a new
one to this reader. Where is the evidence
for such a remark?
