Posted by Betsy Phillips on Tue, Nov 3, 2009 at 7:31 AM

Two men accused of running a father-son sex slavery ring have been indicted by a grand jury, Kyle Swenson reports....Mega Millions is coming to Tennessee....The federal hearing into Nashville school resegregation starts today....Folks are concerned about some dodgy proposals for guidelines for storing coal ash.... The attorney for suspected baby kidnapper Tammy Silas says his client has attempted suicide....Channel 5 is reporting that a drunk driver took out a light pole downtown last night and that a person was shot this morning. Clearly, the only conclusion to be drawn is that these are the opening salvos in a great light pole v. people downtown war....

A man gets shot in the head in downtown Nashville and it gets a link because it fits a wisecrack? Would it have still been a joke if he were well-known? Or hadn't been described as "homeless"?

Nice try, Hilarious, but at the time I did my post, there wasn't any information available other than that a person had been shot.
And, if you read me, you'd know I would too have made that joke about anyone, famous or not.
