Cooper Under Attack by Firedoglake; Voters Ask, 'What's a Firedoglake?'

Posted by Jeff Woods on Tue, Oct 6, 2009 at 6:22 PM

Oh my, these liberal bloggers really know how to play rough, don't they? In their relentless quest to unseat Jim Cooper, they have produced these two vicious YouTube attack videos. What will Nashville's voters do when they learn that Cooper is catching flak from Ed and Rachel on MSNBC, or that he's hated by the world-famous Firedoglake? We tremble to think.

I'm sure Cooper is afraid of third graders that made these second rate snuff films. Of course, none of them actually live in his district.

j.b a lot of us live in the 5th drst. cooper has a problem and we liberals/progressive's will see to it that he goes the way of all Big Biz first into taxpayer paid retirement.
The sick thing is we taxpayers will still be paying 80% of his insurance just like we're paying for evey damn republicans and we're sick and tired of keeping these damn jerks in their chosen lifestyle while good people die and get dropped by their insurance co's for PROFIT .Its Corp Fascism at its worst!!
Democrats and Republicans we Must Have The Public Option and shut down these health corps and now!

Mike Ross, that is funny. You can see Cooper is jealous as hell that Ross got the ticket. Even better is that Ross is ON THE RELEVANT COMMITTEE. Cooper of course is not. Dems won't give him a chance to get near the relevant committee since Cooper brought down health care in 1994.
I live in Nashville and am hoping for the day Cooper is gone. I'm voting for any primary opponent, and I won't for him in the general. If he think Mike Ross has done alot to help cover all Americans that is laughable.

Count me as another Democrat who lives here that wants Cooper gone. I am tired of his dissembling on this issue and many others.

When he ran for this seat, he promised not to be as conservative as he was when he represented the 4th District. Obviously he lied.

The real Roger should take the above as a sort of burlesque compliment, I suppose.

Yeah, yeah, sure, all of these comments are coming from Nashvillians. Not Virginia. Or Wisconsin. Or wherever these firedogmorons live.

That was me, actually. I was channeling my inner goofball.

I am so glad that I have Jeff and Roger to let me know what opinions are approved by the Nashville establishment. I wouldn't want to step out of line and have a thought of my own. Thanks guys. You've saved me from the potential embarassment of disagreeing with or even opposign one of the approved local politicians.

Hey, you're welcome. Anytime! But please: no worries about having thoughts of your own. People have silly, misguided, and borderline narcissistic thoughts of their own all the time. We wouldn't think of trying to stop them.

I do actually live in Nashville and I'm quickly tiring of Jim's crap. Just because he wants to push a pet bill of his own doesn't mean he should be obstructionist and try to run this thing off the rails if *his* precious ideas aren't included. Get with the program, Jimbo: An ounce of party loyalty is called for at this point.
And I swear to God, if I hear him say "I'm just a nerd," one more time in that faux deprecating way, I'm going to lose it. That's just his bullsh*t version of "I'm just a good-ole boy who loves America." I'm just a nerd! I like policy! Nothing I'm doing has anything to do with politics! I just sit in the back room and read feasibility reports and watch Star Trek! I'm just a nerd!

Another resident in Cooper's district here; also ready for him to get primaried. So, ya know, every little bit of help helps, even if it does come from Rachel Maddow. Wait a minute, make that especially if it comes from her -- she's cool.

I live in the 7th by like 2 city blocks. My outsider opinion is clearly irrelevant.

Uh, Noodles, I'm another 5th District voter who is fed up with Cooper, and most of my neighbors in my gritty, moonbeam-free West Nashville neighborhood are sick of him too.

I live in Bellevue. Count me as another voter tired of Jim Cooper's conservative voting record.
I agree with the above poster on the "I'm just a nerd" style. Cooper is boring and conservative, not a nerd. I'd take boring and somewhat left-of-center or, God forbid, someone who is actually interesting, can schmooze his fellow politicians to get things done, AND votes the right way.

Something tells me that Woods and the TNDP wagon-circles would dismiss anyone opposed to Cooper as a dope-smoking, tree-hugging, child-molesting child of the rainbow, even if we were all born at Baptist.
Get fucking real, you pathetic, log-rolling suck-ups. For shame.
