Robin Smith: 'I Was Attacked by Barack Obama'

Posted by Jeff Woods on Tue, Sep 22, 2009 at 9:57 AM

Robin Smith plays the martyr in this interview during the Smart Girls conference in Nashville. The long-suffering Smith complains she was persecuted as a racist, terrorist and extremist by Barack Obama himself--all because, when she was state GOP chair, she put out this video questioning Michelle Obama's patriotism. Smith was responding, ironically, to a question about why more women don't run for public office. "I think it's a matter of not wanting to harm their family and not wanting their family to pay the price," she says. So women have been discouraged from entering politics because a woman (Smith) was criticized for criticizing another woman (Michelle Obama). Got that? Here are excerpts from Smith's remarks:
"From personal experience I can tell you last year when it was not fashionable to speak about conservative principles and last year when it was not fashionable to be against the current administration, I was called everything from racist to terrorist to extremist by Barack Obama himself when we put the Michelle Obama video out about how for the first time in her adult life she was proud to be an American. I think that when women see that there is a nurturing response that they don't want to hurt their family. They don't want to become publicly ridiculed. However, at this stage in the game, I think that when you do the risk-benefit analysis women are seeing that there's too much to lose when they don't become involved. "I think it's a matter of not wanting to harm their family and not wanting their family to pay the price because there are all sorts of strong women across time but women always have the mothering instinct first. I'm the mother of two children and obviously I wouldn't want to do anything to harm my kids. And last year when there was a lot of ridicule flying, of course it did make an impact with our two teenagers. But at some point you have to set the example to stand and I think we're at that moment of surface tension where it's been building and building and building, and women are to that point where it's my time. "If we're great Americans we'll be very good Republicans and I think that should be our priority at this moment is America first at all cost."

I believe Robin Smith. I too have been personally targeted for destruction by one Barack Hussein Obama. He has been sending his henchmen (and in one case, a woman) after me because I have been, without ceasing, publicly declaring that Obama was born in Kenya. So far they have failed because I have been staying in a different abode each night. My survival skills are unmatched. Fortunately, my buddy Ted and I have hooked up with Captain Steve, who is also on the run from Obama, and we are watching each others backs.
And Robin, you hang in there girl. You can and you will weather this storm. You are welcome at our conspiracy conventions any time. We will never let any Federal government types into our convention so you will always be safe there.

If intelligence is indeed influenced by heredity, I'd say Robin Smith has already done her children a disservice.

Sorry, I don't agree with any of you. I would be out in front questioning Michelle Obama's patriotism any day. This is a valid question to ask her, she made the statement, so she should have to explain it.
Excuse me, but didn't the left do this to Joe Wilson? Hhmm? Pounce on anybody who says anthing. That seems to be the American way. Oh, but by the way, Obama DID lie. That part of the bill was quietly amended after Rep. Wilson drew attention to the "untruth". Guess the representatives can still say "untruth" on the floor...

Its hard for some whites to understand what Mrs. Obama said because they, unlike many accomplished blacks and other minorities, are not constantly questioned whether they deserve what they have or not, by individuals and by society in general.
It gets easier to grow frustrated and disappointed in a country or community that has created and fosters such a hostile environment. I'll give you a few examples. My father was born in rural Davidson County shortly after WWI, he walked past at least two schools to get to his school for no other reason than he was black and those other schools didn't allow blacks in. When old enough he volunteered for US Army, he served in 2 wars, was honorable discharged after 25+ years but still not allowed to vote.
I have been chased out of neighborhoods with dogs and guns b/c I was black. I was questioned about how I got to my highly selective, predominantly white liberal arts college, which no consideration of what my grades were in high school. I have been in hotels and at restaurants where white people have handed me the keys to their car or their claims ticket b/c they thought I was valet not a patron.
When you hear these stories from multiple members and generations of your family and you have these types of interactions and experiences it is hard for some to feel proud of this country. When people tell you to go back to Africa when your ancestors were brought and kept here by force and those very same ancestors helped USA become the economic and cultural icon it is today its not a stretch to feel something other than love and devotion.
Of course there is also the problem of blind allegiance. Some people think if you question the way things are done you aren't loyal (patriotic) but can you really improve anything if you don't question what needs to be improved? It helps in business and in personal development so there is no reason to believe it won't help in nation building.
